Karim

Karim is an inmate at the Udyn citadel, in the cell next to Yuri Barolov. His cell smells of excrement, so he has probably been there for some time.
Karim is of uncertain ethnicity, as Yuri does not understand his tongue. It is unclear why he has been imprisoned. All that is known about him for certain at this point is his name, although he has also mentioned the names of the vizier and Berke to Yuri as well. He likely threw a paper with some incomprehensible characters into Yuri's cell, and attempted to throw another one.
Given the lack of a mutual language, Karim spends most of his waking hours complaining and praying. He did seem to appreciate Yuri's singing.
He appears in Chapters 11 and 12.
