The Humans

In the reckoning of the world, humans are the youngest of the common races, late to arrive on the world scene and short-lived in comparison to Dweor and Aelves. Perhaps it is because of their shorter lives that they strive to achieve as much as they can in the years they are given. Or maybe they feel they have something to prove to the elder races, and that is why they desire to tap into the unknown forces of the universe. Whatever drives them, humans are the innovators, the achievers, and the pioneers of Croft.
The Humans founded Leofric, and while the elder races rose and fell, diminishing with time, the Humans grew ever more powerful. The Humans are fond of adoption and adaptation, taking pieces of foreign cultures and modifying them to suit their needs. This makes the Humans especially diverse and capable of achieving grand stature due to their willingness to learn. But such an appetite for knowledge can be a curse, and Leofric eventually fell along with all the other kingdoms. Humans still linger, as do all other mortals, and pray for the Thuumdala's grace.
