The Eirborn
There are some who dare attempt to Lucidiate life - to Dream a new consciousness into existence by tearing fragments of possibility from the Cosmos. The Eirborn are the result of such Dreaming; beings plucked from the Thuumdala and forced into feeble mortal forms. The power of pure Dream energy cannot exist for long in these forms, so each Eirborn is given a few years at most to live and sometimes a few months at least.
This is why each Eirborn views life as exceedingly precious, as it is a fleeting wonder to them. It is not uncommon for free Eirborn to pursue adventures in the arts, engineering, and travel as they wish to make the most of their limited time. However, it is more likely to find the Eirborn imprisoned as experiments, or in forced relationships with lonely Lucidiettes. They are expendable in the eyes of other mortals; creations of the Cosmos and in vast supply. But Eirborn still Dream, so they are spared the curse of the Illucids.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Eirborn are cast in humanoid form but lack any of the biological qualities of other races. They are constructs of the Cosmos with either grey, blue, purple, or white shale-like flesh. When manifested, they can appear in the visage of the manifestors desire, so Eirborn can range in dimension, sexual suggestion, and design.
Genetics and Reproduction
Eirborn don’t reproduce—nor do they have any physical sexual characteristics. Language that categorizes people into male or female categories thus breaks down when it comes to Eirborn. Most Eirborn prefer that others use the pronoun “they” to refer to them, since it doesn’t attribute a gender that they don’t possess. Only a relative few prefer “he” or “she,” having chosen to adopt a gender.
Growth Rate & Stages
Eirborn come into being as adults and live no more than a few years.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Eirborn do not eat or sleep, for they have no need to.
