Primus's High Council
Primus's High Council represents the core of the government, composed of precisely nine Lesser Priests that are handpicked by the single High Priest, the ultimate authority within the nation. The High Council is responsible for a variety of things that encompass maintaining law and order, commanding the military forces, overseeing economic regulation, providing essential public services and religious instruction, overseeing infrastructure development, and managing foreign relations. Each Lesser Priest specializes in a distinct field of knowledge, ensuring that, as a collective entity, the High Council possesses the capacity to arrive at well-informed decisions that cater to a broad spectrum of matters. When a High Priest passes away for any reason, the Lesser Priests decide who from among them will make the most suitable candidate. In instances where a tie occurs, a religious ritual is conducted, where the Priests seek guidance from their divine god, "The Original One." This sacred ritual entails a gathering at Primus’s central place of worship in its capital, where all available priests meditate and seek signs and visions that ultimately determine the identity of the new High Priest. Subsequently, the newly appointed High Priest takes on the responsibility of designating a successor to occupy the vacated position of Lesser Priest, and the cycle continues. The current members of the High Council consist of High Priest Thaddeus Sabio with Lesser Priests Marcellus Ingram, Isabella Caeli, Cohan Aeternus, Elias Veritas, Maximus Straus, Lysandra Dager, Gorlois Camlann, Theodore Cadwell and Valerian Abbott. For more information about the High Priest, see the entry on Thaddeus Sabio.
