Primus Military

Roughly 5% of Primus’s population works for its military, whether as a civilian doing research or as a trained soldier. Primus’s military took a big hit during its Civil war with what is now Novaria, but it has since recovered its funds and workforce plus some. The military is divided into subsections, consisting of a navy, marine corps, espionage force, and army, although resources are mostly pooled into espionage and the army as skirmishes by water are scarce. The espionage force focuses solely on covert operations and investigation. Members of these units train in stealth, disguise, and impersonation, and are often deployed in other nations to find out their secrets or new developments. Members of Primus’s army train for years before being deemed battle-ready, as Primus expects absolute mastery in one’s magical class and artifact usage before sending them out. Primus’s military possesses a great number of the most powerful artifacts, which are used during battle and other events. Its artifact library is heavily researched and cataloged extensively, there is no chance of any kind of theft. Artifacts are assigned to soldiers based on rank and potential, and can be moved according to the discretion of the High Priest. Thus, soldiers train hard and practice religious studies to capture the attention of the High Priest and earn the honor of possessing the most powerful artifacts. There is also motivation to train and keep in shape, to not grow sloppy in skill, as it is just as easy to take artifacts away from soldiers as it is to hand one to them.
