Oriana Penrose

Prince Oriana Penrose is the latest of the Penrose lineage, heir to the throne of Kalaido. Despite being born into one of the greatest eras of peace and prosperity in Kalaido's unified history, her life has been far from easy. Oriana's early years were marred by a litany of health complications, from weak lungs to meningitis and jaundice. From a young age, the royal heir struggled to even walk, often secluded from the public eye in her youth as a result. However, in more recent years, Oriana has made more and more public appearances.
From her secluded youth emerged a prince whose wit cut as sharply as her courage. Oriana, displaying a razor-sharp intellect reminiscent of her mother, Queen Serena, defied the constraints of her royal position. Her eloquent speech, gracefully laced with contemporary slang, challenged traditional norms, captivating the public's imagination. In Council meetings, she ardently advocated for laws promoting peace, earning both admiration from the public and animosity from her Noble contemporaries. Her quick wit, laced with self-deprecating humor in her increasing public appearances, has endeared her to the public nearly as positively as her Royal Mother. However, this behavior has just as effectively made her many enemies amongst the nation's Noble Council, and even some amongst the People's Council due to her lack of decorum and willingness to lambast them for foul deeds regardless of their influence.
Oriana's accomplishments extended beyond the political arena. Despite her frailty, she is known to hone her combat skills with the Royal Guards, determined to wield the Penrose heirloom Clarent with unparalleled proficiency. A prodigious mage, she has also absorbed knowledge across many magical sub-schools, leaving her specialization shrouded in mystery. It is suspected that it is through the constant usage of Body and Healing magic that she is now able to operate as she does, despite her health issues. Her known innate affinity with the Fundamental School also hints at depths of magical prowess yet to be fully discovered.
With the inexplicably boundless energy she exhibits, Oriana is known to walk the streets of Asmody, frequently venturing beyond her palacial walls to mingle with her future subjects. Queen Serena, recognizing her daughter's stubborn determination after the first few times Oriana snuck out, permitted these outings under the condition that Oriana always take a Royal Guard. Oriana's commitment to understanding the people she would one day lead endeared her further to Kalaidoans, and ensures that Asmody remains an unshakeable bedrock of support for the Penrose family.
When she became the youngest ever recipient of the awarded title of Duke, there were many murmurs of nepotism from the supposedly impartial Queen. Oriana however dispelled doubts through her exemplary governance of Tellada, proving her qualifications with the four years of governance she earned for herself. Her determination and charisma painted her as an accessible and capable ruler, a defender of Kalaido's legacy and future. Oriana Penrose, a name etched in the annals of Kalaidoan history, embodies a new era, promising hope and continued peace for the Kingdom of Kalaido in increasingly turbulent times.
