Novaria

Novaria is the youngest of the Five Land Nations, having finally declared their independence from Primus approximately 50 years ago. Novaria started off as a small rebel group in Primus, protesting the strict government and oppression of technological advancements. After starting and winning a civil war, Novaria was officially recognized as its own power. However, they are completely walled off from the rest of Eostrea with the ocean directly to their north, and Primus surrounding them on all other sides, making trade with other nations almost impossible. Thankfully, Novaria is able to survive thanks to the incredible technological advancements that they developed during their war with Primus. In fact, Primus cutting off Novaria's trade means that the other nations, who would be more accepting of Novaria's technological advancements, are unable to fully match what they have done, making Novaria the content's leader in technological skill, aside from Oceanus. Additionally, without the oppressive discrimination against technology they faced in Primus, Novaria is able to advance even more quickly than before the civil war, and the citizens gladly enjoy luxuries such as cars and cell phones that were previously hard to come by. Novaria's government is still working out some of the kinks in terms of how to run a country, but their current system involves a president elected by a popular vote every five years, mimicking the system of leadership Novaria had when they were just a rebel group. While Novaria does claim to support individualism and diversity, due to being surrounded by the undiverse Primus, their population does not readily reflect this, and there is a common problem of "echo-chambers" within the political communities there. Additionally, Their constant oppression from a society that values magic and religion above all else has caused a non-insignificant number of Novarians to have a negative view one both concepts, regardless of their relationship to Primus. In fact, there is even a group, which is a cult ironically enough, that absolutely despises magic and thinks it should be outright abolished worldwide.
