What is the Mitist Ritual?

The mitist ritual is a ritual performed by the Nostralovish people of lovely. Every Nostralovish citizen goes through this ritual, and most look forward to it as children. The Mitist ritual is a ritual children go through, to be recognized as teenagers, and when they must start following certain religious rules. Children are always excited to go through the Mitist ritual, and some children wish to do it before they're even of age. A child becomes in age to complete the Mitist Ritual when they're around 14 or 15 years old.

How is the Mitist Ritual Performed?

The mitist ritual is done in Koda's Temple. The only people in the temple during the ritual are the chief, the child, and a medium. In order to do the ritual, there are a few items that are needed.
  1. A Hijab, or Veil
  2. Fish
  3. The holy text of the Lovous rules
The chief only supervises the ritual in case something goes wrong or the gods want to wait for the ritual to be performed on a certain child. The child sits on a mat as the medium reads off the Holy texts, the medium will tell the child the 10 laws. The child then puts on the veil or Hijab, and after that says prayers and eats the fish. Then the medium reads the holy texts again to finish off the ritual.

What happens after the Ritual?

After the ritual, the village has a celebration where they dance, eat food, and the child for performed the ritual meets others their age, to learn for them. The ritual is normally performed on multiple children at the same time, but special children such as the children of the chief. They have their own ritual.

History of the Ritual?

No one really knows exactly how it started, but many chiefs have spoken to Koda about it and have said around the same thing about the origins of the ritual, "Koda has spoken and said the ritual was made when the first Lovians discovered the gods. They began listening to the deities and were told the laws and rituals that they wish we celebrate. The mitist ritual is very important to the deities,"
