The Midderlands

The Midderlands run from the northern steppe to the central lowlands and end at the Caliph Desert . The midderlands are a contested area of the mainland. Currently, they are held by K'halba Roon . The land is mainly grassland and hillock but has been scarred and wrenched up by years of dwarven progress. Only the lands on the eastern shore still contain fertile land rich enough for food to be grown. A direct result of this is that the main imports into the midderlands are food based. Their massive material wealth, stored mostly in precious metals, subsidizes the enormous costs.

Demographics

You would have to search to find someone other than a dwarf in the Midderlands. the main constituent of the Dwarven Coalition is, unsurprisingly, Dwarfish. There are enclaves of humans and orcs who have mostly escaped prosecution in their own lands to live in the midderlands. There is an abundance of aggressive wildlife in the Midderlands too. the Dwarven Culture revolves heavily around hunting for sport and the animals have grown tough and gnarled as a result. Encounters with Dire bears and Dire Wolves are surprisingly common.

Climate

There is a sort of Climate change underway in the midderlands. There is almost always a heavy smog hanging around the main cities of Gumheim , Wrethforge and Kalgh Ulum . The Cities have developed huge factories and forges in a futile attempt to increase their output. The land is mostly scarred and torn up by technology and the only arable land remaining is near the Towns of Antoandur and Andturian.
