Skull of Splintered Graves

History

During the War Without Rivals, toward the end of Barstoi’s forced occupation of Ardeal almost two decades ago, Count Aericnein Neska’s troops spent a night in the small town of Feldgrau. When they pulled out the next morning, they repaid the town for its hospitality by butchering its citizens and putting Feldgrau to the torch. The soldiers disposed of the bodies in a single mass grave in the center of the town square.

The Carrion Crown

Auren Vrood and the Whispering Way excavated this grave to harvest the bones of the dead to create a fragile skull composed of hundreds of bone fragments.
The skull is a component of The Carrion Crown and is directed in the Ciphered Poem as "A hundred slain lie,/ Grind bone and marrow to cement./ Craft now a skull of splintered graves."
