Energy Warhead

Energy Warhead is a logical expansion made upon the fact that energy weapons have the longest firing range while still being able to hit the enemy. With the way the Anti-Voidcraft Defense reaps through even the strongest missile salvoes (with rarely more than 1-2% of missiles actually reaching the target), any way of increasing the missile chances to reach the target is a good idea.   One of the most succesful ideas was fitting an energy weapon in the missile. One completely without any sort of limiters and even common sense - it is actually expected to melt after a second of firing. It gives it enough firepower for a Shipkiller-grade missile with energy warhead to actually punch through an outer hull of a capital ship, even if it won't cause a lot of damage to the inner hull.   Of course, a one second long vaser ray will do little damage when compared to a 20 megatonne nuclear warhead... but per every nuclear warhead to hit, twenty or thirty energy warheads will reach the circa 200 000 kilometre distance when they can safely detonate. Which can cause quite a lot of damage.   Energy warhead can be encounter in every type of missile, but are the most common in Shipkiller missiles.
