You steep the owl feather in the wine for at least 24 hours, then drink the concoction as you choose one object or creature that you must touch throughout the casting of the spell. You learn whether any spells are affecting the target. If you have learned the spells, you learn what they are. If you do not already know the spells, you learn only the school of magic or priest domain of the spells.   If it is a magic item, you learn its properties and how to use them, whether it requires attunement to use, and how many charges it has, if any.   If the item was created using an enchantment process that includes at least one spell, you learn how many spells were used in the enchantment and you have a chance to learn which spells created it. However, the full process and ingredients used to create a magic item are not revealed.   The chance of learning the spells is determined by rolling an Intelligence (Arcana) check for each spell. The DC of the check is 5 for a common item, 10 for an uncommon, 15 for a rare item, 20 for a very rare item and 25 for a legendary. If you know all the spells used to create the item, reconstructing an enchantment process during spell research requires one fewer clues.   If a giant owl feather is used as a spell component, you gain advantage on any skill checks rolled during this spell. If a Luckstone is powdered and added to the infusion, the divination becomes much more potent: you automatically pass all checks and identify all spells used.   The divination takes place within the caster's mind, and observers will see and hear nothing.
