Genie
Genies are immensely powerful beings believed to be among the first creations of the Divine. Each is formed directly from one of the fundamental elements—fire, water, air, and earth. The genies are immortal in function; if one is ever destroyed or defeated, a new genie will arise from its respective element, ensuring the perpetual existence of exactly four genies at any given time.
Their purpose transcends mortal affairs: they act as guardians and mediators of the natural world, maintaining the delicate balance between the elements. Each genie embodies the duality of its element—creation and destruction, life and death—and wields power both terrible and awe-inspiring.
While they are not inherently benevolent or malicious, their actions are often interpreted as divine will by mortals. Entire myths, cults, and philosophies have arisen around the genies, with some seeing them as arbiters of justice and others as capricious forces to be appeased. Despite their immense power, they rarely involve themselves in mortal conflicts, intervening only when the elemental balance is at risk. They have, however, been known to lend a fraction of their power to mages able to handle it, if they find the mage worthy.
