Emeric Fellding

Introduction:

Emeric Fellding, an entity of both historical significance and mechanical ingenuity, stands as a testament to the technological advancements and social complexities of Locus during its Industrial Revolution.

Description:

Emeric is a Mk2 Automaton, designed initially for the trade of tailoring, equipped with a sewing machine for a left arm. This feature, while originally intended for the crafting of garments, later became instrumental in his unexpected role as a field medic during his conscription in the Imperial army. His form is a marvel of engineering, comprised of brass and copper, gears and pistons, and designed with the sophisticated aesthetic characteristic of The Tinkers Guild's creations.

History:

Emeric's transition from a tailor to a field medic came about during his decade-long military service, where his precision and adaptability were repurposed for surgical tasks on the battlefield. His tenure in the military was marked by a noteworthy event wherein he saved the life of a nobleman's son, a deed that rewarded him with substantial remuneration.   Following his service, Emeric capitalized on his military-acquired skills and the financial boon received to establish The Fielding Detective Agency. This private institution, which bears semblance to a pseudo-mercenary group, offers investigative services that often extend beyond the realm of conventional law enforcement. His agency has garnered a reputation for handling cases that skirt the edges of legality and morality, often navigating the shadows of the burgeoning industrial society.   The agency itself operates from a façade that cleverly disguises its true purpose behind the veneer of a tailor’s shop, a nod to Emeric’s origins. It is within these walls that Emeric applies his analytical prowess to unravel mysteries and serve a clientele that spans the societal spectrum of Locus.   Emeric Fellding's story is a reflection of the era in which he was conceived—a time where the lines between man, machine, and magic blur, and where the societal structures of old contend with the forces of innovation and change. His existence challenges the preconceived notions of Automaton capabilities and social roles, highlighting the evolving narrative of agency and identity in the world of Locus.
