Soucouyants

Soucouyants or loogaroos are witch-like creatures which pose as reclusive old women during the day, then shed their skins at night and feed on sleeping humans, leaving behind dark bruises. Destruction: locate the mortar in which she keeps her skin and cover it in salt. Similar in many ways to Manananggal of the Philippines. [Maddie] Dex and I tracked one of these in 2008. Relatively easy to track once we knew what we were looking at. Had some confusion because the deaths were causing Duppy Bats.
