While lizardfolk aren't known for their emotions, Nelyx was different. The young hatchling was alone from birth, found crawling along the sandy shores of Raven Gulf and taken in by a band of pirates after putting up quite the little feisty fight. Raised on the water by a crew of all races and backgrounds, Nelyx grew into a well-traveled teenager. One night, their ship got stuck in the middle of a massive storm. Nelyx was thrown overboard while attempting to tie down the masts. As she was ripped below the crashing waves by the turbulent current, she saw a flash as a tentacle grabbed her, pulling her deeper into the depths. The aborith sunk lower and lower as Nelyx fought for her life, knowing her limits on holding her breath were ticking away. The only thought that crossed her mind was the safety of her pirate family in the storm above them.
Suddenly Nelyx felt a powerful jerk as aboleth and her were pulled by a massive force. The aboleth released her and as she sunk lower, a large serpentine face met her own, asking if she wished to live. A nod escaped Nelyx as an air bubble surrounded her and air filled her lungs. The deity of water, Leviathan, told the girl to protect the seas. Agreeing, Nelyx became Leviathan's medium. Thought dead when she returned to the ship, her family celebrated her safety. From that day forth, Nelyx set a new command and purpose for those aboard the ship, and they joined her in new mission.
