Nirmala Starflower

Nirmala is a survivor from the war in the Reach. Much of her family did not survive. She has CPTSD and some mood disorders from growing up in a war-zone. Her homecoming has intensified her nightmares, but she has her heart set on assisting the settlers who are returning to the region. She is also very curious about the wondrous or terrible secrets lurking in the ruins of war.
She doesn't talk much about what became of her family, which is odd. She'll talk openly and endlessly about literally anything else; from the intimate details of her love life to the super secret tome she's protecting.

Renowned Professor

She traveled much of the world in the 100 or so years since she left the Reach. She visited Serenish universities, conferred with famous scholars, and taught a few generations of students.

Obsessed

Nirmala is autistic and her special interests include the Anuar, Fiends, and other cosmic evils. She is adept with their languages and knows more than most about what they are, where they may have come from, and their roles in Llyria's history.

The Confessions of the Heretic Abi Dalzim

During her travels, Nirmala came into ownership of this ancient and dangerous tome, which she guards with her life. It contains the twisted spells, prophecies, and rantings of the arcanist Abi Dalzim - famous for the Horrid Wilting spell. If damaged or destroyed, it reconstitutes itself at midnight. No one knows how to destroy it and until recently only a few people knew of its existence. Nirmala, however, cannot keep a secret.
