Half-Orc
A greater shock than half-elves were to the people of Llenilan, humans and orcs can produce offspring with one another. As with half-elves, more than 50% of all half-orcs are entirely sterile. Looked down upon more than their elf blooded cousins, half-orcs are seen no different than their orcish parentage in many parts of society. The worst things people know of orcs are transcribed on half-orcs, often without prompt, and many humans reject the human side as "being overwritten by orc".
Standing taller than humans, but not quite as broad and muscular as orcs, half-orcs are still a physical force to be reckoned with. Their sillhouette can commonly be mistaken for a large man, but the earthy tones of their skins and small tusks are decidedly orc.
The population of half-orcs was less than a tenth of what it is today before the signing of peace treaties between orc and human populations. Orc clan chiefs seal deals with human settlements by taking a human wife, and offering an orc wife in trade. Nomadic orcs cross through far-away taverns and catch the eye of lonely humans. The rapid mind of a human and the passions of an orc heart can often be a powerful – and dangerous – mix. Half-orcs find themselves trying to keep emotions and tempers in check, especially when they find themselves frustrated with other races and their prejudices. Manual labor, fighting, and smithing are often where you’ll find half-orcs working, as their impressive strength and endurance makes them better laborers than most humans. As with half-elves, there is no formal community for half-orcs, and most find themselves with orc clans, in small human towns, or impromptu neighborhoods in cities.
