DYRO (du:,ro)
God of Literature and Diplomats (a.k.a. ΔȲΡΩ, ДЮ̄ΡО)
Divine Domains
DYRO's domains are diplomacy, philosophy and the preservation of wisdom. He is a patron of academics, librarians, diplomats and ambassadors.
Artifacts
Within a special wing of the grand library of ANSE a golden scroll was displayed. It was said that it was written by DYRO himself and contains all the wisdom an Emperor needed to rule effectively. Anyone unworthy of the title would be blinded by the knowledge of the scroll, or driven mad trying to understand it's writings so only the Emperor ever saw the written contents.
Holy Books & Codes
Many philosophy tomes have been written by DYRO's priests trying to recreate the golden scroll. A few even daring to question if it is possible for mortal hands to create such a font of knowledge due to the biased nature of human perception.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
The winged staff is a common symbol for DYRO, he is rarely presented without it. The wings represent the carrier pidgeons who convey his messages.
Tenets of Faith
- If a factoid has not been written down there is no proof that it happened.
- It is an aberration to steal great learning and claim it as your own.
- Those of a weak nature cannot understand their nature, they must be taught by those of a strong will.
- One must never allow self-deception to obscure any knowledge.
- Do not allow your actions to be dictated by emotion for it reduced you to that of a beast.
- One must always understand the limits of their perception, we cannot know everything and this lack of knowledge can cause us and others to act poorly. Forgive ignorance in yourself and others but continued ignorance in the face of education is to be distained.
- Honesty is necessary in the persuit of knowledge, wisdom, and diplomacy.
