Aether Lines

Aether Lines are the leylines of arcane energy that run through the planet. These lines radiate from a centralized point on Liria, assumingly from the The Shattered Isle. Ancient Elven records seem to back up these assumptions, but due to the storms that prevent travel from the continent, this has yet to be seen with the eyes of a non-elf. The lines permeate the earth, air, water, and fire of the continent and seem to feed and sustain the flora of the world. Aether and the leylines are invisible to the average person, however, those with sensitivity to arcane energies are able to locate these lines.
There are many varied types of Aether Lines:

Prime Aether Lines

These are the largest and most concentrated lines of Aether that flow through the planet out from the source. These are usually the largest and deepest lines of Aethers and flow far below the earth. Prime Aether Lines are stationary and always flow along the same path.

Major Aether Lines

These lines branch off from the Prime Aether Lines and start flowing up and out branching like roots of a tree flowing closer to the surface. Theses lines are still pure Aether and remain the same energy as that of the Prime Aether. Major lines have been known to shift from time to time but no explanation as to why has been discovered.

Minor Aether Lines

Minor Aether Lines branch up and out from the branches of the Major Aether. The Minor Aether transforms to take on the properties of the base element of the area it runs through. Arcanists with the proper training can tap into these lines and enhance their magics related to that element. Minor lines tend to be drawn towards elemental and spiritual forces and will move and change as they spread out. These minor lines usually end at a focus point of Aetheric energy and take many different forms both benign and malignant.
