Moliliexia - The Rift

Mólìlièxià (魔力裂罅) is a crack between worlds - specifically, between Tianxiajie and Shenhuajie. It occurred after the explosion of Wotutubo Shan in 2 KPC, and widened for the next several years.
By 1 LYC, enough of the nature of Shenhuajie was leaking out that monsters began forming from both animals and plants, and restless spirits and walking corpses began to proliferate. That leak was what led to the the name of the era.
By 4 LYC, the fissure had reached its maximum expansion (as far as anyone who has studied it over the millennia has been able to tell), and it was then that the various kinds of Shenxian began coming through to Tianxiajie. In combination with the leak of supernatural power, the arrival of the Shenxian sent the world spiralling into chaos. It is for this reason that the era Lingyichao has been named as it has.

Manifestation

According to Qihuoshice the rift appears to be a great tear in the air, floating perhaps 3 metres off the ground on a ledge some 150 metres lower than the peak of Gongga Shan.
All that can be seen through the tear are ribbons of eerie light, much like those that form to the north past the Great Steppes - the beijiguang - and flashes of lightning.
The edges of the tear are ragged, limned with light of a vivid purple-black hue, and shift back and forth as though some peculiar wind is blowing them.

Localization

The rift itself is located near the peak of Gongga Shan in the Daxue Shan mountain range. For the last thousand years, it has proved to be impossible to get too close; not only is Gongga Shan difficult to climb, but the rift's influence is so great that without a very high level of Cultivation, you cannot get above 5,600 metres from sea level.
Slowly, during the past three millennia, an area with a radius of approximately 600 li (expanded from 20 li back in 281 LYC) as the Longma flies around the Rift has been cordoned off, as the effects have become exceedingly dangerous to all who might approach within that distance. This cordoned-off area is known as the Forbidden Zone.
The effects of the rift are concentrated the most in a radius of 3,000 km, but the whole world has been affected at least somewhat.
