In 170 ABE he started a romantic relationship with the captain of Owl Island's garrison, Olde Lamarck. But in Heim there's a stupid law that prohibits goverment workers to date members of the military, and, therefore, Gilean ended the relationship, in fear that the King would find out. Captain Olde could not cope with the termination and hired an Iridio-Corven assassin to murder the governor, which he did. On the year 176 ABE, Gilean died in his house desesperatly trying to get a potion of healing from his personal chest.
