Etching Knife
History
Etching Knives were developed long ago by stone giants to carve stone sculptures called Menhirs that retained magical auras they would use to further their goals. The tradition of crafting these stone daggers was passed down to Earth Primals by Stone Giants. Over time the skill of crafting Etching Knives was propagated through the land through trade, and is now a common practice among stone carvers and masons.Manufacturing process
The knife's blade is made from stone chipped into the shape of a cutting edge and then strengthened by magic. The enchantments placed on the blade allows the wielder to cut through stone with ease and precision. Handles are often fashioned out of crystals, metals, or woods that conduct magic. This process allows the knife to conduct magic while carving on surfaces.
Significance
Etching Knives are a common magical focus for carving runic sigils, arcane glyphs, or magical artwork. These knives are preferred by casters with a strong personal connection to rock and stone. They are also often used in the carving of Menhirs.
