Tasked with caring for the recently deceased and watching over the bodies of those who have passed on in life.
Career
Qualifications
Death keepers must be able to keep the forces of the undead at bay, and preform the proper ceremonies to bury the dead. Often they will learn healing magics and other necromantic magics as a part of their studies into banishing the dead.
Career Progression
Those seeking to become a death keeper will apprentice under an existing death keeper learning the tricks of the trade and studying necromantic magics. There is no set requirement for when an apprentice is done studying, but when the master and apprentice agree that the apprentice is ready they will conclude the apprenticeship.
New death keepers will explorer looking for a location that is need of a death keeper, sometimes setting up their place of work along the road or at a crossroads or finding a town in which the current death keeper is ready for retirement.
Payment & Reimbursement
They are reimbursed for their duties of preforming ceremonies to put the dead to rest, and can often charge high prices to resurrect the dead. The pay is often meager, but they never seem to be in need of anything.
Other Benefits
The cities they dwell in are gracious for their services treating them with respect and citizens will often gift them with food and donations. They are also consulted for their wisdom in small towns.
