The Four Winds of Daenang (mjan ʌn ɯːtʰiin ʨʰaː de nʌŋ)
Daenang is the oldest of the Five Empires, with a rich history. In the 15th Century, the first recognized ruler in the region, Xioru /ɕɻ̩iɥʊ/ Daenang, grew his kingdom under the advisement of a Xhan /ʈʂan/ counselor. He ultimately controlled a third of continent before he passed, leaving his son to succeed him.
The continent alternated between periods of diplomacy and years of expansive war. Most rulers looked to the wise Xhan for counsel, when they did not heed the advice of the Xhan, or a ruler came to power without the Xhan, wars would be fought.
In 2777 N.W., the Xhan usurped power from all ruling families in an unprecedented coup, uniting the entire continent under their rule.
A brief period of unrest was replaced by an era of peace and prosperity. Under the rule of the Xhan, Daenang is a heavily populated country on the forefront of development and economic might.
Daenang is divided into four major regions, known as the Four Winds or mi'uron Hu'ting /mjan ʌn ɯːtʰiin/. Each is governed by a combination of Xhan law and local traditional laws.
The seat of the Empire in mi'uron Wik'ting /mjan ˈtʰiin/ - The South Wind.
The west is mi'uron Pi'imting /mjan pim ˈtʰiin/ - The West Wind.
The north is mi'uron Biep'ting /mjan biːp ˈtʰiin/ - The North Wind.
The east is mi'uron Chait'wa'ting /mjan ʨʰetʰa ˈtʰiin/ - The East Wind.
