The Lab
Purpose / Function
The lab is a sprawling complex to the northwest of Philadelphia. It is home to the experimental Hero Program and leading research efforts into Enhanced Humans and the various super natural creatures of the world. It's a sprawling military fort in its own right.
Entries
There are three entries. Each of them are heavily armed military checkpoints. All vehicles and persons coming or going have their papers checked, IDs confirmed, and are subject to security searches. Each entry position is well armed and has a gate tuckd underground that can seal the walls water tight.
Denizens
The lab is occupied by a mix of heroes, researchers, families, office workers, troops, and research specialists. These people are dedicated to changing the world. They're here because no other organization in the world has such high aspirations, and such great odds of achieving their goals. They have the technology of NASA, the resources of the Department of Defense, and the brightest minds in the world.
Everyone here is dedicated to their mission above all else. They're here to save lives in the long run. Here to make the world a better place.
Valuables
The lab is packd with advanced, experimental, and incredible technology. Even the raw resources involved in just producing or running the equipment there is extremely valuable. It's a tempting, terrifying target for any villain raid. They could steal enough equipment to take on, and take down an army from this place. Even just stealing the blueprints and selling tech to criminals would be enough to make a fortune for a lifetime.
Hazards & Traps
The facility is home to an advanced automated defense system. There are hundreds of computerized emplacement surrounding the lab. Everything from guns to missiles, air defenses, and even lasers to fend off any form of attacker. No one's ever dared attack the lab for the shear scale of its armaments and defenses.
The entire complex has computer controlled doors. In the event of a criminal breaking in, they would have to cut through every door and break down every wall if they wanted to stand a chance of escape. There are extensive holding cells, complete with a virtual-reality system designed to entrap any and all types of powered individuals.
Architecture
The facility is surrounded by 40 foot tall concrete walls, with turret positions placed out every few hundred feet, among other defenses. It was designed to fend off an army of villains, if that were ever necessary. There are only three main gates into the facility, each set up as a military checkpoint. All ID's and paperwork are checked before anyone gets in.
Inside the gates are wide, open fields between the buildings. Towards the center of the complex there's a series of science buildings and the main administrative tower. To the east, there's the dorms and main college facilities. The hangar, runway, and flight facilities are to the northwest. A hospital sits to the north, behind the main lab buildings. Various other facilities are spread out over the complex, small stands, reinforcement points, and so on.
