Vulture Culture

Vulture Culture, also known as VC or by its street name venture capitalist, is the first Proto-Licentian compound that constitutes deliberate usage of Uptaking in order to make an infected subject express DNA from a foreign source.
It comes in a set containing both an injectable drug and several capsules, both of which contain high concentrations of vulture DNA. When taken as directed they flood the system with vulture DNA, but the only DNA that actually gets expressed is that of a vulture's stomach.
Vultures have incredibly acidic stomachs, about a hundred times more so than humans, which allows them to eat rotting meat without risk of illness. This is the whole point of Vulture Culture — allow infected to eat raw meat without risk of food poisoning.
Although it technically involves Xenoexpression, Vulture Culture works on XRAI. However the success rate on XRAI is lower unless the earlier prototype, now dubbed Vulture Culture Deluxe, is used. VCD includes actual vulture stomach tissue and therefore increases chance of success by enabling Xenoexpression by means of Melding. Neither form of VC works on Stoker.
One treatment generally lasts six months, but there have been reports of Mercers keeping the benefits indefinitely.

Manufacturing

The DNA component is simply amplified via PCR. VCD uses actual vulture tissue and is therefore much more difficult to make, as it currently requires actually slaughtering a vulture.
