Melding

Melding, also known as Meatmancy, is the process by which RAIs/Zeds can bring together two pieces of tissue for them to act as if they came from the same body. For example, pressing skin from a dog against a Zed's fresh bleeding wound would result in the dog skin attaching to the wound, cover it and eventually acting as if it were always part of the recipient in spite of having come from an entirely different animal. Strictly speaking this term is used on the level of tissue, but it is sometimes used when describing how tissues are connected during full organ transplants.
Melding can also occur from the tissue that a Zed eats. A well-known example is the case of Sips, a severely alcoholic XRAIs/Zedheads who has survived many years due to eating liver regularly, replacing her own damaged liver tissue.
