Wolfsong, Ash'ur
Ash'ur's background is mysterious as his player never provided one. But somehow he connected to Ana Orlovsky when she accepted a charter from the Swordlords of Restov to clear the Stolen Lands of dangers and found a new colony. He served as part of the Rogue Talons for several years and once the Queendom of Libris was founded took up the post of Spymaster.
In (Year TBD) during The Beast attack Ash'ur was wounded, being thrown from a collapsing guard tower, shattering both of his legs badly. With limited healing available the shattered bones never quite healed correctly and now Ash'ur typically walks with a cane.
Maegar, Varn
Maegar Varn is the third son of Androth Varn, a Brevic Baron of Issian descent. As such, he did not stand to inherit his father's titles and holdings. However years of the best training money could buy left him an exceptionally capable warrior. Starting with the armsman who was responsible for his training, Howitt Gurney, Maegar gathered a number of capable fighters. This group was called the Varnling Host and for several years they made a name as capable mercenaries.
When the Swordlords of Restov put out a call for capable adventurers to clear out the dangers of the Stolen Lands and found new colonies Maegar jumped at the opportunity. Initially his new settlment of Varnhold thrived, attracting numerous villagers. However all that changed one night when the ancient cyclops lich Vordakai used his foul magics to steal away the whole population of the village including Maegar Varn. Maegar met his doom when Vordakai ate his brain from his still living body in a feast of horror.
Orlovsky, Ana
Ana Orlovsky was born to the powerful Orlovsky noble family in Brevoy. However as a half-elf due to an illicit fling she was always something of an outcast within the family. When Maegar founded his adventuring/mercenary band the Varnling Host goodman Gurney was the first to sign on.
After several years as successful mercenaries his Captain Maegar was offered the opportunity to claim territory and Gurney, almost two decades senior to Maegar, was ready to retire from the mercenary life. In the new settlement of Varnhold Gurney served ably as Warden ensuring the smooth running of the community and dealing with any troublemakers. However all that changed one night when the ancient cyclops lich Vordakai used his foul magics to steal away the whole population of the village including Gurney. Fortunately the goodman was not counted among the slain and was rescued and released by the Rogue Talons when they defeated the Lich.
Since his freedom and the lost of his former leader Gurney has focused on restoring Varnhold and ensuring the efforts of his now deceased friend will not go to waste. He currently serves as the Mayor of Varnhold.
The Old Beldame
The Old Beldame is a strange woman once known as the Witch of the Swamp. Rumours that she devoured children have circled for years though no evidence to support this has ever been uncovered. She was grugingly convinced to take up the position of Magister in the fledgling Kingdom of Libris. As she put it "I'm sure the Kingdom will fail eventually but I suppose I can do it until then." Other than her curious appearance the other oddity is that she refuses to share her name with any who asks and instead goes by the nickname 'The Old Beldame'. Whenever asked she will warn of the dangers of to freely sharing your true name as some foes can make use of it to harm you. This was somewhat proven when the Lich Vordakai was able to summon Abyssal assassins to hunt council members whose name he had learned.
The Old Beldame is a master of a variety of magics and a crafter of many items. She once crafted items for General Kalgon.
Narthropple, Jubilost
The name of Jubilost Nartropple is known to each and every educated person in all of Avistan. Or rather Jubilost himself won't accept the idea that someone, who does not know his name, could possibly be called an educated person. A renowned adventurer, who traveled the Inner Sea region back and forth, prolific writer and tireless explorer, Jubilost likes to brag, that every good household is bound to have at least one of his books - whether it's an expensive illustrated atlas or a cheap collection of cooking recipes. He doesn't care that those envious of his many talents call him haughty and rude - after all he can insult them much worse - and in a dozen different languages at that!
Jubilost was traveling the Stolen Lands preparing yet another book for his readers and fans. However his exploratory expedition got into trouble with his wagon was caught in the rushing waters of the Skunk River. Fortunately the Rogue Talons were able to help.
Currently Jubilost is continuing his travels and writing in the Stolen Lands preparing what he promises will be a magnificent new work.
Morigan, Caspar
Caspar Morigan was a member of the Varnling Host and friend of Maegar Varn and a devoted Cleric of Erastil. When Varnhold was founded he took up the role of the High Priest of the Kingdom. Building a small temple to the Elk Father and minstering to the villagers.
Unfortunately Caspar was captured by the Lich Vordakai when he enthralled the entire settlement. While some survived their capture the Cleric was not one of them. He died in horror as Vordakai opened his skull while he was alive and paralyzied and began to consume his brain. His body was later discovered by the Rogue Talons when they faced the ancient Lich.
Lorentus, Cephal
Cephal Lorentus was a wizard and member of the Varnling Host. When Maegar Varn founded Varnhold he became the Magister and Master of Letters for the new Kingdom.
Unfortunately Cephar was captured by the Lich Vordakai when he enthralled the entire settlement. The ancient undead crushed his throat when Cephal attempted to defend the people with his magic. Turning injury to insult Vordakai animated Cephal with dark and unholy magics binding him as a servant of hsi dark power. In his undead form Cephal was defeated by the Rogue Talons when they faced the ancient lich
Chief Sootscale
Chief Sootscale is an unusually wise Kobold and successfully negotiated a respectful if not entirely friendly relationship with his human neighbours.
When his tribe was deceived by the Shaman Tartuk it was nearly destroyed. However the reveal of the Shaman's complicity by the Rogue Talons averted this fate. A later growth of the Sootscale when a broken tribe was pushed from the area near Varnhold into the Greenbelt greatly strengthened the tribe. After some negotiation Chief Sootscale led his people to a new area high in a hidden valley briming with ancient and evil power which was fortunately far from human territories.
Grigori
Grigori, a wandering bard, found his travels bringing him to the new lands of Libris. However he was fairly critical of the leadership of the fledgeling Kingdom and pointed out many perceived flaws and errors. This did not endear him to the council of Libris but his clever tongue swayed many to consider his words. While he never lied his firey speeches often coloured the perception of the listener to a negative view of the council.
The Queen, an accomplished bard in her own right, was able to use her own skill at oratory and the great achievements of the Rogue Talons to blunt much of the words of Grigori and reasure the populace of the good work of the council of Libris. In fact after their victories over the troll forces in the southern Narlmarches the crowd turned against Grigori causing him to depart Talons Rest suddenly. Because of this he was no longer in the city to receive a letter carried to him by travelling merchants. It was instead intercepted by Warden Garress. The letter seemed to suggest that Grigori was hired specifically to disrupt the Kingdom of Libris and cast aspersions against the council. His current wearabouts are unknown as is how had sent him.
