The campaign unfolds in the rich tapestry of Golarion, within a wild and untamed expanse known as the Stolen Lands. This nearly uncharted territory lies in the northeastern reaches of the River Kingdoms, skirting the edges of the nation of Brevoy. It is a realm steeped in mystery, where the wilderness has reclaimed dominion and only the bravest dare to venture.
For countless decades, the Stolen Lands have been a wilderness, forsaken to the whims of nature and the prowling of deadly beasts. In its swamps, forests, and mountains, eerie things linger, and the remnants of an ancient, almost forgotten history lie buried beneath ruins and tangled weeds. This is a land without lords, having resisted innumerable attempts at conquest, yet it remains ripe with potential for those bold enough to stake their claim.
Scholars speculate that the region's stubborn resistance to settlement may be due to the thin veil separating the Material Plane from the First World, an enigmatic plane of existence that seems to bleed into the Stolen Lands, weaving its wild influence into the fabric of the wilderness.
The name "Stolen Lands" is a reflection of Brevoy's assertion that this territory rightfully belongs to them. The fertile plains of Rostland in Brevoy extend into these lands, creating a patchwork of contested claims and fractured loyalties. The boundary between the River Kingdoms and Brevoy is a flashpoint, with the heirs of Choral the Conqueror—Brevoy's legendary unifier—and ancient Rostlandic nobility both laying claim to lands as far south as Hooktongue Slough and the Kamelands. Brash families even assert their reach into the notorious bandit city of Pitax, far to the southeast of the wilderness.
Yet, in truth, the Stolen Lands belong to no one and are stolen from no one. Countless would-be rulers have attempted to tame these lands, only to leave behind abandoned ruins that stand as silent testaments to the wild's fierce resistance. These savage lands remain untamed, a refuge for monsters, criminals, and hidden dangers. They harbor secrets and threats that have menaced neighboring realms for as long as history remembers.

Kalgon
The ancient lich Vordakai was defeated and his magical eye claimed by the Warpriest Kalgon. He claimed he only seized the extremely powerful artifact to protect others from it's dark influence. After studying the eye and the captured arcane library of the deceased lich Kalgon came to believe he could redeem the dark artifact and turn it's power to serve him.
With the aid of the Sorceress Gwendolyn it has been determined that the gem holds at it's heart and extremely powerful and ancient creature of Abbadon. Should it be released the mighty artifact would be weakened but as an empty vessel it could be filled with other extraplanar powers. This could make the eye a powerful weapon but should a source of significant extra planar power be bound within the artifact would manifest new powers matching the nature of whatever was now contained within.
