Diana

Twin sister of Apollo, she embodies qualities that are oppisite and complementary to those of the god of light. In fact, she's the lady of the night, keeper of the lunar cycle. In the same way that Apollo loves the harmonious beauty of art, Diana prefers the wild beauty of nature. The goddess loves to live in hidden forests, with the sole company of huntress maidens like herself, who refuse marriage and family bonds. In the province of Greek culture, she's identified with Artemis. This goddess is extremely skilled with the bow as well, but she uses it to hunt, not to impose rules or punishments. She doesn't care for the civilized life, the rules, or the laws. She holds dear the wild animals, and she's often in teh company of wolves. She protects those who venture into unexplored territories, both in the literal and figurative senses, so that includes whose who attempt new endeavors and those who choose uncharted roads. She shares with her brother Apollo the ability to heal, which she especially places at teh disposal of women. She protects women in labor and newborns, and she's very loved by women who work with medicine: healers, herbalists, and medicae. She's always protrayed as an extremely beautiful maiden wearing the short dress of huntresses, with her hair carelessly tied, the bow in her hands, and a crescent moon on her forehead. She's often accompanied by a hunting dog or a deer.
