Tennibrous saltweed

Growing around the lake southeast of Vertus , this weed is no larger than 10cm in height with thin needle like leaves atop a juicy root base.

Its berries are highly poisonous to all but the Derry mouse, and they grow exclusively during the dry season.

Pods attached to the root base can be plucked when a deep purple for nutrients and have an almost sour melon flavour, though plucking too many will cause the saltweed to drop its berries in an effort to save itself.

Their seeds are very hardy and sticky, and in warmer climates where they are sometimes tracked to on the limbs of wanderers, they are an invasive species.

As a use, their leaves taste of bacon when cooked, though their taste can be overwhelming if too much is used -akin to coriander.
