Esteel often sports a jovial smile that can turn on a dial to predatory if he sports a deal that puts him on top. While it offends Esteel to ever think he is robbing someone, and he would never take advantage of someone who doesn't know their worth - there is a little thrill that goes through the sizeable man when he deals with a customer with too much self importance.
Esteel has an enhanced enjoyment for bird life in Natare, especially the hopping bird the Salit . He also homes a large furry legged spider in a special terrarium he has set up in his balcony garden.
Growing up in Natare
Born to average academics in Natare, Esteel has an average childhood. He was slightly picked on for his weight and less than stellar grooming, but nothing a resilient young lad could not handle.
When he ended being tutored and was ready to enter the academy, he joined under a philosophy and mathematics double Secondus, quickly earning both with quick wit and greshire-clad dealings.
Esteel v the Council
Ther trademaster has never had a friendly relationship with the Natare Council Members. Before the regime change, several of the council members were within Esteel's tutoring group, and then when Esteel became trademaster, the old regime wished to line their own pockets and so someone getting in the way of the underhanded deals being made was a mighty pain in their rears.
After the change, Trademaster Esteel still does not trust the council, for while their deals have become much more straightforwards, the ability for the new council to circumvent the ideal of the fair trade does mean that Esteel is watching them, waiting for them to act in a way that benifits just them.
