Ibixian

Biology

Ibixians are tall, shaggy and goat-headed humanoids. The males also have curling horns that grow throughout their entire life. These signify their status and getting one's horns cut is a serious punishment within their tribe as it basically condemns someone to serfdom within the tribe. It is said they are descended from a man who was cursed by Sicere for sneaking into the priestesses' quarter of one of her temples.   They grow a short coarse fur over their entire bodies, and thus do not have a great need for clothing. When they go out to hunt or raid they wear hide armor usually. They keep their matted hair crusted with blood or mud, and often cover their bodies in mud as well to protect from environmental dangers.   They mostly live in forests and at the edges of civilization, pushing inwards to raid but never going too far or staying too long. They are especially common in the large forests of Solland. Recently the increasing industrialization and resulting expansion and deforestation of the region has started to push them out of their territory. They are now but a fraction of what they once were and only more resentful and violent for it.

Intelligence and Social Behavior

They possess a kind of primal, but malicious cunning and intellect. They know they are destined to live a short and brutal life, which makes them generally surly. They bear an atavistic fury that is put on full display when their blood starts to pump and they charge in screaming at the top of their lungs. But this rage also gives them an immense strength, especially when they form a large horde. Because they are herd beasts who find strength in numbers, and take courage from it. They are none too refined as fighters, but their natural instincts allow them to work well together to find openings even in the defense of opponents stronger than them.
