Durhian/Acchoran Tea

Leaves of the Durhian Tree can, once dried, be steeped in hot water to be consumed as Durhian Tea. These tea leaves can be kept long term, and the resultant tea is lightly sweet and floral. These teas are locally produced in Eastern Lerulious, particularly in Al-Faheem, and are shipped all over the continent. 
More popular for far reaching trade, however, is a variant known as Acchoran tea. Stored durhian leaves will dry out over time under normal circumstances, but when kept damp and away from light, the leaves will ferment. The fermentation process turns the leaves from their standard deep green to dark brown, almost black. The leaves are pressed into blocks to remove the last of the water from them, and dried for storage. The blocks are then shipped to market, and shavings from them can be dropped into boiling water to create Acchoran tea, which has a complex and challenging taste. Notes of wood shavings and roasted nuts are the most forward flavors of the tea. The most commonly sold size of the blocks can provide the tea for a family of four for a half year, and can last around two years.

Rarity

While Durhian tea is easy enough to find in eastern Lerulious, western Lerulious has fewer instances of the Durhian Tree, and less ready access to the leaves. Acchoran tea is sold in pressed bricks instead of loose leaves, and is much easier to ship, and is thus available (usually) all over the continent.
