Durhian Tree

The Durhian tree is perhaps one of the most important and common trees found in eastern Lerulious. A fast growing and useful source of lumber and medicine, the Durhian is valued widely.

Basic Information

Growth Rate & Stages

Durhian trees grow from a seed into a two foot sapling from spring into the next winter, and thereafter grow at roughly one foot per year until reaching a maximum height of thirty feet, slowing in the last ten feet.

Biological Cycle

The Durhian tree loses its leaves once per year, in the cold winter months. They do not have a long bare season, and instead their leaves grow back in weeks.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

The wood of the Durhian tree is light and easy to work with, which makes the Lumber popular for construction. The leaves can be used for a number of purposes, primarily for the production of vulnerary, but during the winter season when they fall from the tree of their own accord they can also be processed or used fresh to make tea.
