Lyria, formerly Madeline Rubio, is a vampire living in Heyfield, Redrille.
Born Madeline Rubio she lived her early life in Heyfield before moving to Jorzun with her husband just after marrying. She gave birth to a son Marco before her husband was killed over a gambling debt. She took her son and moved back to Heyfield looking for work. Eventually she was picked up by the Northern Lights Adventuring Guild as its chef. She and her son became regulars in the guildhouse until 1207.
In Early 1207 a Necromancer named Melchior attacked Heyfield in an attempt to capture Safiya Crowe. The attack resulted in many deaths within the city and guild, including Madeline who was killed in the guildhouse and subsequently raised as a vampire under Melchiors control. Her first act in the new form was to kill her own son, which she mindlessly did.
Eventually Melchior's plan failed and he was killed, freeing Madeline from his control, at this point the monster was offered an ultimatum. The inventor Lorelei offered to try and find a way to help her, and gave her the name "Lyria" since she was no longer the original woman...
During some experiments Lyria developed feelings for Lorelei and the two are steadily dating now.
