Pride's Promise

His green, flaming form hovered around me. I could feel his dark power. "My dear servant," he said softly. "I know what you want. You have experianced loss greater than most. You've raised your nephew well, and you know what he wants as well. Nothing would make him happier than to meet his parrents." My thoughts drifted to Sojern, how he never knew his mother, let alone his father. The apperition wispered in my ear, "Give me your soul, and body, and you can see your sister again." I thought about the cost. All magic has a cost, typically a material one. This cost was a little heavier than that. Then again, this isn't about me, this is about Sojern, and what's best for him. I agreed to the terms, and gave my soul, and body to the apperition. I felt its dark power surge through my being. Now, I could sense the presence of the dead. I could feel their souls in the next realm. I promised to keep this new power secret, and study it before I wield its true potential. I sit here, with my journal, preparing to bring back sojern's mother. Soon, we will be a family once more, and I will finally have peace.
