Weapons and Defenses

T0 Heavy Weapons see significant improvement in weaponry, thanks in part due to advances in energy storage. Gauss weapons (magnetically propelled slug-thrower) become the main heavy vehicle mounted kinetic slug-thrower. Note that because Gauss weapons hurl projectiles at incredible speeds and range, such weapons are banned for non-military forces. Microwave Emitters are now efficient (and quickly banned).
  T1 Sees the first practical light vehicle mounted energy/particle weapons beyond Microwave Emitters. Portable Gauss weapons are now available.
  T2 Makes vehicle energy particle weapons commonly available; the blaster (pistol and rifle) is the common weapon of choice in much the same way firearms were the in-thing for several centuries. Importantly, heavy vehicle based shields are now prevalent and are very effective against slug-throwers (this is good because Gauss rounds are terrifying!), not as efficient against energy weapons. Microdrones (extremely small drones) are available and are usable with great effect.
  T3 Personal energy weapons, become much more available, and neuro-stunners make their appearance as the self defense weapon of choice (though easily usable in heavier, more offensive variants). Small vehicle based shields are also in use, and bulky personal shielding is available. Nano-cloud weapons are possible, but require 3+AIS to efficiently control, rendering them illegal in the Federacy.
  T4 Neural disruptors capable of easily penetrating most versions of "armor" and is rather effective versus shielded targets; it's the weapon to place one's bets upon. Personal energy weapons are small and OP.
