SCENARIO 2.2: 5 DAYS TIL JUDGMENT
Major Milestone
Due to rather explosive situations, the Team spends the night before the trial at the Hotel California, a secure wonderful place that's far removed from the more densely populated area of
Minos Base . They are safe, but they can't leave. They spend the night accessing security footage and preparing their defense.
They discover that the bomber was very good. They literally weren't bombs until it was time to use them, which is the reason why it wasn't detected. In fact, the bomber turned out to be a former student known to Taylor,
Jeannie Strazza, someone who showed great promise as a gadgeteer. She disappeared from the University some time ago. Furthermore the original bomb was specifically intended to do modest damage to the ship, the second was designed to make a mess in the bay, and the third was specifically designed to interfere with the bay door locking mechanism/protocols - specifically so repairs had to be repeated before the
Curiosity Alpha could leave.
The information compiled was extensive and thorough, and though the Assistant DA fought valiantly, he lost his case on all fronts. Taylor approached him afterwards and though she got restrained quickly by the team, the non-verbals that passed back and forth could spell a new party who's interested in us - a new party with a little local clout.
Unfortunately, it looked like it would take a couple of days for them to get out of the bay, so they made themselves as useful as they could. Nora decides to telepathically locate Kestra, and they cook up the idea of adapting the FTL Nav system into a Psi Booster, with the Captain's permission, of course.
JR snuck over to Elle's place and stole Kestra's bown that she drank vodka out of. Other preparations were made in order to find Kestra as quickly as possible. Taylor speeds up the exit time from the bay by half a day and they quickly put their new gear to work - and Nora contacts Kestra. It's allows them to find out that they're being taken the Moon of Minos and that both of them are OK. The people that nabbed them were crack troops, but the guys on the shuttle, though professional, aren't in the same caliber. The Alpha takes off for the Moon of Minos.
