Scenario 1.2 - "What on Beautiful is Going On Here?"
The Team is now together at the
CasTheme park at
Quicut and completes their plans to get the HoloArchive from the targeted Air Gapped Server Vault (AGS).

The Team has located the AGS and decide to take advantage of a lecture going on at the local library. They prepare a few... interesting things: Cloud of Confusion (CoC), Laxative of Leaving (LoL) amongst other things. Outfitted and prepped as well as possible, they hit the Server, incapacitating guards with LoL and CoC, finding oxygenator masks and a few other... interesting... things.
Their assault is very successful and they are able to enter and leave a transmitter which works better than expected. The info retrieved verifies the name
Kriptikus Moriarticus aka Tikus, an old friend (?) of Nora's. There are two key contracts tied to their plan to stop the Minos Mission from launching.
Armed with this new information, along with a few other useful tidbits, they return to
the University and, along with
Kaylee Haithorn, they are able to turn a few moles and stop a couple of crack teams from infiltrating and further tampering with the mission. Kaylee is very grateful for them handling the situation quickly and gives the green light to restock and head out to
Minos.
Meta Notes
This is the final session of Arc 1, whose main purpose was to introduce the players to the game and the player characters to one another. Importantly, it developed a plot line where the characters are going to find themselves in a power struggle as different factions put forth their idea of what "colonization and exploration" truly mean.
As GM, I'm happy with the campaign development and the opportunities for future unfolding that it holds. There are moles in the University which is, at least for now, their home and benefactor, there are powerful people whose plans have been halted, and a new world with new issues to explore!
Player Ops for future development
Importantly, Nora finds that she may have unfinished business with Kriptikus, JR is contacted by a group "interested in helping him protect the Team," and Taylor believes that the algorithms that are being generated are at too high of a level for humans or SmartMachines, pointing to the presence of an AI machine. These are fantastic hooks for future plot developments.
