Scenario 1.2 - "What on Beautiful is Going On Here?"
Gearing up for War
The Team is now prepping for war footing and things are getting sort of interesting. JR comes to the conclusion that Lisa Conassus of Mission IT is their mole; he performed her security check himself and wonders how she got by.
"Muffling" their electronic gear, JR starts to take Taylor with him to see
Kaylee Haithorn; just as he's about to leave, he notices that Professor Jones is about to open his mouth and say something incredibly unwise, given that JR and Taylor have verified that their communications equipment is compromised. He literally muffles Professor Jones, realizes it would be wiser to take him along, and finally everyone as one big group.
Klickety Klack, Guess Who's Back
The Team boards the Tram on the way to University Central and of course there are three Persons of Interest waiting for them. A battle ensues where they first distract and then quickly take out the team of would be assaulters. One of the assaulters may have been taken out by a banana peel, but this has not yet been confirmed. Before they can lick their wounds, though, one of the three remaining passengers shows themselves to be an android who unleashes a heavy stun bomb. A combination of JRs quick reaction to attempt to shield his comrades and Professor Jones' sacrifice of his briefcase to create an electronic dampener causes what could have been an overwhelming neural attack to be disorienting and hurtful at best.
Those who are able then return attack on the android... except for Tatum who slips on a banana peel and knocks himself out. Not able to deal with all of them, the android jumps out of the open door of the halted tram (stopped earlier by Taylor using the emergency stop lever) and escapes.
Out of the Frying Pan
They arrive at University Central Station plus one (a Special Access stop) and are met by four heavily armed and shielded guards. Deciding that discretion part of valor, they are taken through a secret passageway to a Black Site Room - a large 50 foot cube room where Kaylee is waiting for them.
JR debriefs her, and she doesn't seem surprised. She explains that she knows what's going on and they have some leads that are pointing them in the right direction. After offering them a chance to back out completely (none accept), she informs them that they are being "detained" for six days. During this time, they will be sent upon a Black Ops mission. Up until this time, she and her security team have underestimated everyone but JR and Professor Jones. With a little Gold Tech support, she thinks they have what it takes to work together and investigate a lead at Quickut. Since they will be officially detained, they will be arriving on the scene as unknowns, hopefully able to slip in unnoticed and do their thing and get out.
