IDS

IntegratedDataSets, IDS, are a compilation of heuristic application and empirical data in a given field or related fields. Intentionally separated into individual practical or theoretical sets, (for example an IDS based on Driving or on Material Data and Application), IDS forms practical boundaries for SmartSystems and intentionally keeps them from becoming broad-spectrum self-learning machines, the precursor to Artificial Intelligence .
Machines capable of efficiently utilizing IDS are called SmartSystems or Adaptive Interpretive Systems and the complexity of these machines determines the number of IDS they can access and manipulate. Level 1 Adaptive Interpretive Systems - 1AIS is perfectly capable of understanding human vocal and other input. 2AIS are quite capable of performing complex tasks such as piloting a vessel in an asteroid field or chaotic traffic.
It is a against Federacy Core Guidance for ownership of higher than 2AIS - Level 2 Adaptive Interpretive Systems) without a Charter. It is against Federacy Core Guidance to attempt access of or receive guidance from 4AIS - actual Artificial Intelligence systems.
