Aurelius Sertorius

Knight of Woodford

A Good Man.   Aurelius Sertorius was a trying to live up to the legacy left behind by a father who took a spear for his king, and for a long time, Aurelius expected himself to find a King for himself. But, time proved to him that King were men like him, and he only found God to be worth dying for.   His heritage as a Roman of Durnovaria never subsided, and while he was a good Christian, he was also a politician, who tried to remain a part of The Gens of Durnovaria yet the split loyality often caused a rift between him and his fellow knights, Sir Reccared the Golden and Sir Aldwyn of Newton.
After St. Albans, Aurelius had slain a Saxon King, but it brough him little comfort as tradegy struck. The loss of his beloved Bethany drove him almost mad, and many dark things happened as the Durnovarians turned on him. He disappeared for years, repaying a life-debt to his sorcerous grandmother and her apprentices, but finally returned a changed and more callous man.   During the Anarchy, Aurelius found service as Robert of Salisbury's bodyguard and chamberlain, and as they spent many years in Escavalon, by the grace of King Nanteleod  Aurelius was wed to a heiress and given a Lordship. Aurelius Sertorius never returned to Sarum, leaving his lands to his oldest son; a new life where he became one of the proud knights of Carlion.
But the lessons he had given Robert would not be in vain, as the boy had become a fine warrior and a strong believer.
