Courtier

Courtier is a sophisticated and influential member of Rokugan's  society, skilled in the arts of diplomacy, negotiation, and etiquette.  They are members of the Samurai caste.  Most will wear their wakazashi as a symbol of their status, but will often not carry a katana, which symbolizes their willingness to protect themself in a duel.  If they are challanged, the lack of a katana on the hip means that they have the right to request a champion to duel in their place.  This is up to the individual courtier, and in times of strife, they may chose to carry both swords.  A
