Legacy

It's funny how easily everything can fall apart. Their is no plan that won't crumble under the weight of complications. Those who say they planned for everything lie to themselves and others. As the moment you take the first step, everything begins to cascade into chaos. "Where's the blueprints Akua?" A man in a dress shirt stained with a little blood stands in front of a beaten woman who looks up defiantly at him.   She spits out some blood on his shirt, before the man punched her causing her head to shift slightly. She smirked as she look back at him. "You need to hit harder than that if you think you can get anything from me."   The man chuckled before clenching his fists tightly. "Then I guess I'll just hit you a little then." The man said before taking his coat off and placing it on the table. Make it sure to roll up each sleeve revealing tattoos along his arms.   He cracks his neck for a moment before moving up to Akua and throwing a strong punch that hit her hard in the face. She spit blood out of her mouth as her head began to spin. She didn't expect him to hit that hard. If he keeps it up she might black out.   Just as he was preparing to throw another punch one of the other men walked up. "Sir, we lost contact with some of the guys outside."   The leader of the men frowned as he turned away from the beaten woman. "Did you make sure to check if they were slacking off?" He asked.   Akua saw them taking their focus off of her. Giving her a chance to think with out a fist impacting her face. While she took stock of her situation she noticed something up above. A figure donning a demons mask and wearing light armor that was colored blue, was walking along the cat walk. They were a interesting sight that mad her question if she got some kind of brain damage.   "No Sir, they seemed to have disappeared. At one spot their was some blood found. The other guys are spooked right now." The scared subordinate said.   "Well call for back up then." He told his subordinate.   The figure moved over them and looked down to notice the young woman looking up. They placed a finger in front of thier mask, before twisting their head to the side. Akua nodded and made sure not to say a thing. The figure pulled out two blades from their sheathes and waited for the time to strike.   "Yes sir, I'll put out the call." The subordinate said before making his way out of the room.   The leader of the thugs turns to look at Akua before smirking at her. "Sorry for the interuption Ms, Tirrell. You know how good workers are hard to find. Now where did I leave off." He asked as he made his way over to her.   He cracked his knuckles before getting ready to throw a punch. Before his punch landed a figure jumped down and slashed at him. His outreached fist caught by the blade causing his hand to be cut clean through. His hand falling at the feet of the young woman.   The man screamed out in pain, before backing away before another slice came at his face. He got lucky as only a slash across his check was received. This forced him back as he took in the sight of the figure with the blue demon mask. The figure gave the man no time as they were upon him going for a killing blow.   Though the sound of foot steps caused the figure to pause before jumping back to get closed to the Akua. Just as more thugs made it into the area they swung their blade to cut at the rope freeing the young woman and giving her a chance to make a run for it as they stared down the thugs began to surround them.   "They took my hand and fucked up my face." He complained to the others. "Get them and then drag that bitch back."   The thugs pulled their guns and prepared to take aim when the figure drops something on the ground triggering smoke to cover the area. The thugs didn't hesitate in shooting and unloaded on the blue armored figure. They didn't account though for theier allies who were also shooting into the growing cloud. Some shot clear through the smoke hitting a guy on the other side of the smoke. Those with common sense aimed lower, though ended up getting shot by the ones a little more trigger happy.   Those who survived were over taken by the smoke and was rewarded by a blade slashing through them and the screams of the other guys that came before. Cut their way through all the thugs as the flawlessly dodged bullets. Making sure to shove some of the thugs in the way of some of the bullets being fired at them.   The leader of the thugs looked on as his men were cut down. He knew when to leave well enough alone and made a run for the door holding on to the nub where his hand use to be. He pushed past the door just as one of his guy impacted the wall next to it. He didn't bother looking back and booked it outside screaming for help from who ever could hear him.   Akua had already made her way out of the other side of the warehouse. Once outside she looked around for any vehicle that she may be able to use. She walked up to one and pulled on the door only for it to open up for her. Once she had the door open she sat down and began to check for any keys. When she couldn't find any she was getting ready to step out and find another when she was met by the figure in blue armor.   "Shit." Akua said as she looked up at the demon mask.   The figure in blue reached into the vehicle and shot out a spike near the top of their gauntlet. Inserting it into the car and twisting it getting the car to start up. Akua simply smiled as the blue demon masked individual pulled back their arm and started to walk around to the other side of the car to open the door.     "You can drive now Ms, Tirrell." The low pitched voice came through the blue demon mask as they sat down.     Akua backed the car up and made her way out of the warehouse district silently focusing on the road ahead of her. Instead of thinking about the deadly woman by the sound of their voice that sat beside her. How quickly her life has been met by chaos. Maybe a few more years in the military would have been preferred than this situation.     "Take us to some place you consider safe." The armored woman ordered.     "What, so you can have a nice place to kill me after making sure to secure my fathers work."     "That would be waste of time. I could have waited till they got that info and then kill them for it rather than rescue you. No, your survival is preferred as you are the only person who understands your fathers work."     "Really now, and what makes you think that Ms, Demon."     "Well some of your fathers work ended up at many of the bases you were assigned to. You had a habit of recreating some to deal with some of the situations you were in. You even improved upon some of the flaws in some of his early work. It's plus you made some of these under fire on some of your missions. And if your going to address me, call me Blue Oni."     "Ah some code name. Well I'm not calling you that whole thing so I'll stick with Ms, Oni."     "Whatever, just focus on the road. We have a lot of ground to cover before the syndicate beats down on us for your escape and my slaughter of a good bit of their thugs."     "Cheery much, I can already see that this is goin to be a rather stressful partnership. Not like I have any other options. So for now I'll play along, but don't worry when I make a run at the first chance I get."       "Wouldn't expect anything else." The Blue Oni Said before leaning back into the chair.
