Gorn "Huntley" of Clan Yarjerit
Gorn, hatched in 1479 DR, was a member of Clan Yarjerit, known to be expert weaponsmiths and proprietors of the Platinum Cadre which made and sold quality weapons in Tymanther. His father Tokax is the patriarch of his clan. His mother is Thacoria. Their clan lived in the capital city of Djerad Thymar.
A powerful rival clan, Clan Shestendeliath, grew envious of Clan Yarjerit's wealth and prestige. Clan Shestendeliath tried to destroy Gorn's clan by sabotaging the iron mines his clan needed to produce their weapons. While Gorn was staying with another clan elsewhere, his entire clan was slain by members of Clan Shestendeliath with the help of assassins from the Zhentarims. Gorn wanted to return to Djerad Thymar to exact revenge but he was convinced not to.
Two years later, upon reaching adulthood amongst dragonborns, Gorn was forced to leave Tymanther. He eventually made his way to the city of Elturel where he felt he could be safe from anyone Clan Shestendeliath would send to kill him. When he first arrived in Elturel, he went by another name, Huntley, to avoid being traced back to his clan.
In the three years he lived in Elturel, Gorn became a member of the Order of the Gauntlet and also a paladin of Torm. He eventually reverted back to using his given name, Gorn.
After a full night where he lay in vigil before an altar of Torm, he made this oath:
"I Gorn, swear an Oath of Devotion both to the Order of the Gauntlet, and to all forces that fight against the darkness. Never again will I forget to show compassion, even to my enemies. I shall show mercy to my foes, tempering that mercy with wisdom. I have a duty to protect and serve Torm, his name, those who can’t fight for themselves, and all bringers of light, and will accept the consequences of my actions today, and all days to come. I will protect those who are in my care and follow those who have just authority. I will not be afraid to act to protect the order. I will treat everyone with honor, even my enemies, and I will never lie or cheat, my word is my solemn oath."
While on a routine patrol through the city of Elturel, the entire city was torn from Toril and transported to Avernus, the first layer of the Nine Hells. Gorn has since joined with Wink's Warriors, a group of adventurers who was sent into Avernus in hopes of finding a means to return the city back to Toril.
