The Champions of the Vale have defeated the sahuagins in their underwater temple to their shark god, Sekolah. Merfolk siblings Drake and Corselle Arapaima aided the heroes on their quest.
After, the heroes made their way to Candlekeep to learn how to save Caldreas from a slaad egg growing inside of him. However, the monks at the entrance to the greatest library in the Realms would only allow them into Candlekeep if the heroes could provide the monks with a unique book or tome, which the heroes did not have.
Undaunted by this setback, the Champions of the Vale decided to continue on their original course, that of returning the young boy in their charge to Athkatla, the capital city of Amn.
