Zenith Giannis-Canthor

A tiefling, born 1314 AK to unrecorded parents, and given over to the Hospital of Ekirena in infancy. Entered the academy as an apprentice, progressing to become a neophyte scholar of the Faculty Militant; granted the grade of Adept in 1336 AK (thesis: “Chains of Air, or: A Monograph on Elemental Combat”). Entered the service of the Tower as an analyst and field agent; anointed a Banner-Knight of House Canthor in 1339 AK in recognition of services rendered.
Zenith was one of the leaders of the Everstorm Covenant, and appears to have been the one who originally formed the pact with Qi'eka'a - though the circumstances of how and why he came to do so are unclear. He was gifted a potent magical staff by his patron, which augmented his already-significant magical prowess, and also wielded a magical blade of obscure origin, which was linked in some way to the Breaker of Chains.   Following a confrontation with a party of adventurers in the employ of the Queensknife in which he was mortally wounded, he sundered his staff and almost caused the Interdiction Field surrounding the Great Tower of Gildenschloss to collapse; the actions of High Banisher Ekhard Hellaswicht-Bheuren and Vice-Scholarch Promise Malaborg-Bheuren of the Faculty of Conjuration prevented the destruction of the Interdiction Field and allowed the energies to pass through the Periphery and into the Elemental Apex of Air, drawing Zenith's soul and those of the adventurers who had struck him down with it. Zenith attempted to convince Qi'eka'a to give him another chance to achieve what he had promised, but only succeeded in provoking the ire of the infamously-mercurial Primordial of the Winds, who struck him down and consumed his essence for his presumption.
