Their name is Tzatu'yshan. They are of a people that you know not of. They are an agent of the Web of Shadows, who seek to enter the tomb of Melekhandra in service of the resurrection of their lord.
Tzatu'yshan is a shapeshifter - one of the
Yad Lahl'an - who infiltrated the ruins of
Kab Melekh on behalf of a faction of the
Web of Shadows. They were single-handedly responsible for the murder of most of the
Alderni expedition to Kab Melekh, as well as multiple members of the
Savuran expedition including
Lorelei Volkenglass.
Whilst within the tomb, Tzatu attempted to kill
Hasdrubal Darkdrinker to activate the
Mirror of the Stars, and would have likely been successful if they had not been prevented from doing so by a party of adventurers who had been acting as guards for the Savuran mission. Nonetheless, they were able to partially activate the mirror, in an apparant attempt to reopen certain pathways which would lead to
Tchokayahattak. Whilst they were unable to fully pierce the wards, their actions are understood to have significantly weakened the
Wardstorm, and had wider knock-on effects including the unearthing of the entrance to
Vash Ossai under the city of
Cameri, and the distruption of the
Sylvan Nexus of
Lith Kala.
Tzatu's precise motives are yet to be fully established, though it is thought that their overall goal may have been to gain access to the weapon that destroyed Tchokayahattak in order to somehow use it to resurrect the
Seventh Paragon.
Following the destruction of Kab Melekh, Tzatu was badly injured but able to escape. It is understood that they may have been freed from the
Web of Fate by the intercession of the
Sixth Paragon, as were a number of others present at the time.
Capabilities
Tzatu is a masterful infiltrator, capable of assuming the physical form of any humanoid, and is thought to have some telepathic abilities to bolster their skills. They are a capable combatant, and have at least a passing familiarity with magic, being able to summon and bind a
Quasit familiar, and to use a
Telesm of Unraveling to damage the wards of Kab Melekh.
It has also become apparant that they are likely to have access to a number of the memories of
Elia of Tchokayahattak, which were extracted from her by an
Oblex.
